Copa Airlines is marking a significant milestone as it celebrates 18 years of continuous operations in Uruguay. Since its inaugural flight on August 15, 2006, the airline has been pivotal in enhancing air connectivity between Uruguay and the broader Americas. The first flight, operated by a Boeing 737-700, landed at Carrasco International Airport with 112 economy passengers and 12 in business class, laying the foundation for a growing network that now connects 85 cities across 32 countries.
Today, Copa Airlines operates 21 weekly flights between Montevideo and the Hub of the Americas® at Tocumen International Airport in Panama, offering seamless connections to destinations across North, Central, and South America, as well as the Caribbean. The airline has continually increased its frequencies and capacity on the Montevideo-Panama route, solidifying its position as a key player in Uruguay's air travel market.
